In case of commercial high-rise buildings such as hotels, where the lower floors have requirement of large uninterrupted spaces for banquet halls, conference rooms, lobbies, parking etc., it can be achieved using transfer systems such as transfer girders, transfer plates and transfer floors, which collect the loads from closely spaced columns from above the transfer system and transfer them to smaller number of supporting columns that are large and widely spaced. In order to transfer the high concentrated forces from the columns and walls of the upper levels to the lower supports, these transfer girders usually require considerable depths and large reinforcement quantities. Behavior and design of transfer girder is different compared to normal beam. The complete behavior of the transfer girder is studied by doing construction sequence analysis and is compared with normal one-step linear static analysis. The forces generated in the transfer girder by doing the construction stage analysis are compared with the convention analysis. Moreover, transfer girders are very massive and act as stiff floor plan switchers. As there are complexities in stress-distribution and its deformation behavior and its behavior under Earthquake is studied.
